Tub choice

edited June 2011 in General
Today while riding in the Victoria CC 10 I punctured.....not impressed as it was the 2nd leg of 4 meets !!! This begs the question what to do about a replacement tub, currently running with the Tufo Jet Elite 160..... Any ideas ?

  • on buting tubs, geoff is selling tufo's resonably cheap
  • Am I right in thinking that my current Tufo's are unable to be repaired ? I have pulled it off the rim and cannot see any thread to unstitch for a repair......
  • Hi Newbeinige......I have some magic tub repair solution....repaired 2 of mine and were immediately inflated and usable...no need to take off rim and no stitching...both tubs are holding full pressure...obviously depends on extent of damage...I also have new tubs here s3protubular 28" 21mm hand made and s33 protubs..trainingboth slicks........I bought them for me , but as I've successfully repaired mine they are spare at present.
  • You can't see the stitching as it is under the tape on the under side of the tub...it is quite a tricky thing to repair but there is an address in classified ads at the back of CYCLING WEEKLY under TUBULAR REPAIRS of some one who does it well enough to race on again...I would never race on a DIY repair or one filled with sealant as performance is bound to be compromised.....I think it's about £12.00....
  • Carmelo, yes mate ive seen the guy advertising but the only tub that is not listed is the Tufo..... I need to call him really, many thanks guys for all the knowledge....
