Sportives

edited January 2009 in General
Dear All,
There was a discussion on the Sunday run about sportives. I would like to share some links I have found useful and interesting.

Cyclosport.org
This is a website which does a good job at bringing together what appears to be all the information on UK sportives. It has links to continental events as well.

La Marmotte
A French Alpine adventure, taking in some famous cols. At least Tim Ducket and I are doing the La Marmotte this year (maybe there are other CCA people interested as well);

We have both signed up with Graham Baxter Tours;

Easyjet has a convenient flight to Geneva from Luton.

Cent Cols Challenge
One for Alex (and maybe Ash)

Interesting article on climbing statistics

I recommend these links; think of summer and forget these long cold nights!

  • Hi

    Just to add to that list I’m entered in the following this year :

    • Cheshire Cat 28th March 2009 - http://www.kilotogo.com/cheshire%20cat.html (should be a few CCA people there going by the forum)
    • Forrest of Dean Classic 3rd May - http://www.forestofdeanspringclassic.co.uk/
    • Dartmoor Classic - http://www.dartmoorclassic.co.uk/
    • Exmoor Beast 1st Nov - http://www.exmoorbeast.org/

    If anybody else is interested or has already entered and wants to share accommodation give me a shout. I’ve rented cottages before when there’s been a group of us and would also be interested in renting a cheap motor home when on-site camping is available.

    Cheers

    Dave
