46 years Later... CAV is the man

edited September 2011 in General
what a great race!

The TEAM were brilliant, how the hell Cav got through at the end I'll never know... when he lost Stannard & Thomas' wheel I thought it was all over!

it has even graced the papers today!

he's surely GOT to get SPOTY now?? Green Jersey AND Worlds ! my phone will be on redial ;-)

  • team of the year also??? Wiggins second in TT, Pooley third in TT, Lucy Garner U23 champ, Andrew Finn 3rd in mens U23 and Elinor Barker Silver in U23 TT
  • I felt very patriotic watching this yesterday. Eight men won that Jersey and Cavendish was no slouch in making that point in his post race interviews, making him a worthy custodian of the stripes.

    Very Patriotic indeed.
  • some thought Dave Brailsford had taken on too much with track and road...he is without doubt a great planner and also a great team builder...everyone whether a rider or back room person has a vital role in making this come together...everyone won that day and Cav was simply magnificent in taking the win...no easy task. Am also very proud that our club is a very small cog in the rider development programme...just watch our U16 lads this year riding as a team.....it's all good in the cycling world at present...let's hope the 2012 show comes up trumps.

'Chapaeu' To Cav and the rest of the British Team - amazing performance throughout the race and an incredible finish. Sport on TV doesn't get any more exciting.

You have to feel sorry for Spartacus, how on earth the judges gave the Bronze Medal to Greipel alone on the basis of this photo puzzles me, as it does Fabian. Surely there should have been two Bronze medals awarded.
