lejog on a tandem in 50 hours?!

not quite unfortunately.
james cracknell and jerone walters abandoned their attempt to break the lands end to john ogroats tandem record this morning at about 1 a.m. ,
774 miles in , only 68 to go. that must be gutting...
abandoned for safety reasons, not sure why.
the record still stands at 50 hours 14 mins and was set in 1966 , apparently on a tandem bought for a tenner, and the route was longer then as some of the bridges hadnt been built yet.

all very humbling!

    when you think that Chris Smith's dad Jerry did 473 miles in 22 hrs(his bike broke so couldn't complete the 24hrs) aged 51....it's all humbling.
