CCA Youth A Riders put on a great show today finishing first (Theo) and second (Cameron) in the Youth Race whilst young Ollie also had a strong race.

Daniel D. raced in the Vets whilst Mark W. and Joshua M. raced in the Senior Event.

    In fact CC Ashwell were represented by two other riders as well. Stevie in the women’s race and Jon Chapman in the Youth. Good performances from both. Sorry not to see Phil Keen nor Lee. I hope Vincent will feel up to coming again soon.

    The Youth race was thrilling. Neither Theo nor Cameron had a particularly good start but Theo had established himself in the lead by the end of the first lap. Cameron and Archie Wishart (from Welwyn Wheelers) forged the chase group. Archie faded leaving Cameron to work on his own. He put in a tremendous 4th lap to make up the 9 second advantage Theo had and the boys in blue fought it out. It was a terrific battle with Theo finally seizing an advantage just before the end at the top of the steps Richard took his ‘three legged Ashwell rider’ photo (above). Great stuff for the spectators. Much admiration and appreciation shown to the two leaders from our great club.

    Further down the field Jon had a good race, securing a respectable 9th, moving up in the League Table.

    I was another hot day, so hot that Theo got sunstroke and got lost at one point!

    Cyclocross is a great. Come along. Youth, Senior; Man or Woman.

    top work CCA - awesome theo; another "50" - good luck to the youth riders for next weekend at the national trophy

    I Came 8th not 9th :), but I know is could have beaten 2 people in front of me, so an all right race for me but would have liked have done better.

    Well done lads (and lass). Sorry I wasn't there again. Haven't swung my leg over my bike (at all) since the Ashwell cross at the start of the month. A poor combo of work, travel and illness have combined to make a thoroughly misserable October for me!! I can't race this weekend either, so good luck to all the CCA's.
