Inter Region Cyclocross Championship Nov 6, MK Bowl

edited November 2011 in Road Racing
Sunday saw the Inter Regional Cyclocross Championships; so a national event but the results based on regional team. The race was held at the Milton Keynes Bowl; it was very impressive to looking over the rim into the amphitheatre and seeing a maze of white tape marking the course. Riding a course in a giant bowl effectively means cycling up hill half the time and being cyclocross this is damned hard! The down hill parts featured adverse camber corners – being cyclocross!

CCA had riders in the Youth teams for both the Eastern Region (Theo) and Central Region (Cameron).

A typically dependable performance from Cameron taking an impressive 14th place overall and being the first Central Region rider. Theo found it a hard race and the photos tell a story of effort (see links below). He finished 28 out of about 60.

Cameron’s excellent performance meant Central was 9th overall pushing Eastern to 10th position. The Youth event was convincingly won by West Midlands.

Unfortunately I couldn't find any photos of Cameron, but here are the links to the ones of Theo.

  • That is a great result. Sad Cameron has to race for central. Well done to you both.
