  • Sounds good. What the GD route? And where's the lunch stop :)

    Shaun
  • Route:
    Langford. Cardington. Everton Hill.
    Hasslingfield (refuel) Harlton. Duxford.
    The Grange. Gt Chisell. Barkway...

    70m or we can cut it short to 50m if weather is bad
  • Thanks Robbie. See you Thurs.
  • The GD [Geoff Denny Classic] can be found at the top of this list;

    A 100-miler where you're never more than about 10 miles from Ashwell - so perfect to cut short at any point.
  • Sorry, i now can't make it as I have a work commitment.
  • I'll be out for the start..day 7..........don't know about completing the distance so will just roll up and see.
  • Geoff, Shaun and Robbie ventured out for 70m in the challenging weather.
    Good fuelling with a full English brekkie after 40m. Made the hills a tad easier but still fought in the wind to hold 8mph on top of the Heath. In the legs.
  • thanks Robbie..legs hurt, but as you say that's another....day 7 for me..........hope weather better tomorrow
  • Enjoyed it. That bit around the Reed Transmitter was special. I was doing 8mph flat out into the teeth of a gale. Robbie came around me to up the pace... and managed to hold... 8mph!
  • Needless to say I missed out on that pleasure......not sure of mileage, but from my reckoning I don't think the route I took when I branched off to turn back to Fowlemere was much if any shorter. It was however a bit easier on wind as I managed to have cross winds rather than full on head winds..........I reckon we parted company around 55 miles...from the Elmdon turn to Fowlemere,Shepreth,Meldreth,Bassingbourne,Littlington and Ashwell must be around 20 miles..I think you two must have done over 70 miles........I couldn't hack the pace any longer. Still bl**dy tender.
