Saturday 3rd March 9.30am ride
Hello all,
Looks like there maybe some wet weather coming in from the west tomorrow morning, so lets do this ride which goes in a South-easterly direction !

Going to do the reverse of the mapped version, so Ashwell to Baldock at the start and not the end.
See you in the morning,
DavidJ

15 of us headed down towards Stevenage on a good old rolling ride with the added spice of Hatch lane in Baldock to really get us warmed up ! Bit of a headwind to start, but this turned to a glorious tailwind to push us back towards Ashwell. Roads around Great Munden were heaving though with half of the world's LandRovers charging around the lanes following the local hunt. Luckily the horses and dogs were safely in the fields though.
Pace picked up toward the end for an all out sprint down to Slip end. As usual I was nowhere near the front, but I recon it was a three horse race between Dom, Scouse and Nathan !
So 35 miles at a shade under 15 with refreshments in the Tuns garden at the end in the sunshine !
Great ride - thanks all,
DavidJ
p.s. Vic where did you guys go and are you still out there ..............
I'm not too sure where we went, as I didn't end up leading the ride in the end. Somewhere near Luton Airport/Whitwell way and we lost a couple!
Another had cramp and we all slowed down to help him back.
Three out of seven made it back to Ashwell about 1-30 with 45 miles on the clock.
I hope the others are all OK.
Vic
good to see everyone tho
I waited for Roy who was still eating at the top of the hill out of Whitwell, when the others went past.
Saw some already in the Tuns and I passed Vic and 2 others on the hill up to Langford water tower when driving home so I thought you must have done more than 45 miles.
At least the sun came back out :)
