Yoga Classes
Folks,
For anyone interested in mens yoga classes, please see the following from Nicole Rubio who lives in Ashwell and has been helping 1 or 2 of our club members already....
Hiya Guys
I have had a number of requests for a mens yoga class in the village, so here are the facts...
TUESDAY 17th April- 29th May.
8-9pm in the URC Hall, Ashwell
Cost- £45 paid in advance of course (or on first night, cash helps as I dont have a car during the week to get to the bank).
This is a 6 week course even though it covers a 7 week period.. The Second Tuesday of the month the hall is always booked, so we will miss that Tuesday.
The class would help with;
cyclists who need to work on hamstrings and opening chest, releasing neck/ shoulder and lower back tension
football folk, who generally need to get some 'length' into those muscles and help prevent strains
office workers who could do with some core support/ strengthening/ stability to help with sitting at a desk all day
any of you who feel the ageing process is slowing you down and pulling you up
We would be working on core strength, getting some flexibility into those bodies, some tension out of those shoulders and some peace into those over worked minds. No airy fairy stuff... good solid work in the body from a yoga teacher who has been doing this stuff (teaching) for 19 years now.
Get a bit of healthy male competitiveness happening, and then get beyond that as you discover whether the 'strength' that you think you have is the strength that you need to age gracefully (ie, without collapsing in parts).
If you are interested to know more, to book in or to get on the mailing list... get back to me.
You can check more out on my website
www. yogalineage.co.uk
It will need a minimum of 6 to run and I don't take more than 12 to a class.. so if you are in, get back to me asap.
You will need
A yoga mat
a firm blanket (for support in poses, padding between you and your mat and warmth at end of class)
A bottle of water
Wear clothes that allow you to move unrestricted but will not fall off you (or show inappropriate bits) in forward bends or legs apart positions.
DO NOT BRING YOUR PHONE (you can speak to me direct and I am pretty sure I wont need to call you on it from the front of the class).
A sense of humour. Expect to have a bit of a laugh.. it's not a serious matter.
A bit of healthy male ego for showing off where appropriate (or at least for feeling good when you do something a wee bit tricky)
You wobbly, aching, not functioning properly bits and bobs... it seems a lot of you have these (sounds like we should have started this class when I first got here!)
As with most mens bonding events.. there may need to be a trophy for student with most dedication to the cause (your body and your yoga)....
Hopefully I have covered it all. I usually leave something out. And yes... I can deal with your aches and pains, sounds like this might be the best place for them.
Cheers and thanks
Nicole
