Certainly up for gears, enough fixed going to and from work this week.
Could do with being back by 12.30 but otherwise happy with what ever suits everyone.
It's not raining tmw so you Baldock boys could meet us at the bottom of that steep Wallington Rd
(branches from the Slip End rd) at 8.15 am. We'll then be going up to Sandon etc
Everyone else can meet at the Pub at 8am as usual.
I am ready for action
My plan was to get up to 60 miles in. So will probably start wimping around 30 miles, looking for cut backs. With a bit of luck i will hang on for longer, depending on pace. 10 days to be fit for Scotton 100km cyclocross ride up north.
Change of plan here. Will miss this ride as have to field test the new build. Txt me if you plan to stop for coffee in tuns as I should be that way circa 12
Me, Robbie, Shaun, Vince, Tim H, Alistair and MC out - MC still with jetlag having come all the way from Singapore hours before: respect!
All really good despite the cooler weather than of late. A good route for getting back on the bike - hills first, and flat after where we chainganged to regulate everything. Me and Tim H most grateful!
Liking the 8am start - meant getting back to Ashwell about 12:15pm - so time enough for a coffee at Rhubarb & Mustard in the back garden there. Felt vaguely continental!
Good route, a lot of the GD, but it's easier that way round than the other way! Through and off worked quite well to keep the pace nice. Impressed with Martin, Vince, Tim and MC who all complain about lack of miles but all hung in well. Alistair and Robbie pretty strong at the moment. I pulled a muscle in my chest from laughing at MC's "do you want ice with that" story. Thanks for that. I had 18.5mph for the group ride. End of the month and I've just squeezed past 3,000 miles. Things are going well.
Sounds fab today guys; Oh I Iong for a ribbon of tarmac, rolling coutryside and few CCA mates for company! The turbo is becoming extremely tiresome - 3hrs worth today with a few inters thrown in to make things a bit more interesting. Same again tomorrow. Hospital again next Tuesday to have the wires in the hand removed, so hopefully just four more weeks to go before back on the road - can't wait!
Nice one chaps. Sounds like you are all going well and heh it's only April! Roll on summer and hopefully summer weather I have been enjoying the lOcal bridle ways and public byeways. They are truly superb at the moment. No mud and just hard packed smooth tracks. Even the green stuff is quick at the mo. nice to have an MTb which fits and rides so well. Just need some tracks north of Ashwell now to complete the set.

I will be making a rare Sat morning appearance
Gears I assume?
Alistair
I don't mind either way...

Many turn offs and the hilly bit is at the start.
