First Go-Ride of the season

edited April 2012 in Youth
Well, what a start. 16 under 8's with Tim........8 trying it for the first time......40 in total....2 new coaches, welcome Jackie Field and Mark Fraser...........The weather stayed fine for the session and all sections of the field were brought into use.
Let's hope the other riders from last year and some more prospective riders turn up next week to make this the best start to a season ever.
This is our 4th season since starting Go-Ride in 2009. Look how far we have come and the success our riders are showing regionally and nationally.
It all starts here on the grass. For some it's simply learning skills, enjoying other riders company and having fun. For others it's a progressive path to higher competition.
Whatever your childs choice the club coaches are here to help them achieve their goals.

we are going to need a lot of support and help this season, so club members.parents and well wishers....let us know if you are able to be active in helping to run this section of the club

Thanks...Geoff

  • More Importantly Geoff, this wouldn't happen but for you. Well done and Thanks.
  • Nice of you to say this Peter...However

it is a MUST this year that we find a way to share all the necessary roles if we want this section to grow and prosper as it could and should.

NO club can always depend on a few key people always being there. Tim and Mark do a mammoth share of the work. Christine Chapman is shouldering the registration. Our coaches are working on a rota to maintain continuity of coaching for the sessions each can't make.

Our grass track races need help with setting out/marshalling/running results/refreshments/signing on/judging/parking control and many other roles.
The field needs to be rolled/mown/marked out on a regular basis.
Clearing up after sessions needs help...all these things need a few people to agree to share the roles and it gets easy to put the show on the road bacause the roles are diffused and the load shared.

Let's see what we can really achieve together so that everyone can take an equal pride............it's YOUR club and YOUR track. I'm just the catalyst...I need you all to be the continuity managers.
