  • Took over the helm of the Black Pig this morning - Pugwash tied up by landlubbers for a second week!!!!. Set a lumpy course - steady as she goes - towards Essex with 3 salty sea dogs - supported ably by 4 new crew members - plus 1 more picked up after being set adrift by a 9.00 o'clock sailing. With the breeze to Sandon, Buckland, Nuthampstead, Meesdon, Duddenhoe End, Elmdon then tacking into the breeze for the homeward leg via Chrishall Grange, Fowlmere, Shepreth, Bassingbourne to Abbingdon Piggots - where one new member of the crew developed wooden leg syndrome - onward to Ashwell via Littlington & Steeple. 36.5 Nautical miles (42 miles) @ 14.5 knots (16.6mph). Black Pig will be sailing next Sunday @ 9.30am from home port of Three Tuns, Ashwell.

Beware of steep waves cresting in Elmdon, the second mate doesn't like those...

My maiden voyage was an enjoyable one, ill be sailing again in two weeks.
  • Fear not my fellow hearties
I have been attached by mountainous Whales these last few days,
but lived to tell the tale....just
More liquid self indulgence to come on Sunday
But Cut Throat Jake sails a fair ship as usual.

See you with extra ballast soon
May fair winds blow up your mizzen
