pete , robbie, bryn, mark w, jon, MC, phil a, chris, jez, steve, iain and me (apologies if i missed anyone) road my “circuit de Bedford” which is langford, clifton, ireland, haynes, houghton conquest, millbrook, marston mortetain, cranfield, astwood, newton blossomville, turvey, carlton, felmersham, milton ernest, thurliegh, ravensden, wilden, gt barford, blunham, beeston, deepdale, sutton, northfields, ashwell on a very hot day with some good climbs. An early puncture and a refreshing “pub stop” didn’t dent the schedule too severely and we were back at 1.15pm with the advertised 69 miles completed at a healthy 18.6.

  • Enjoyed that.
  • Really good ride, thanks all
  • Sorry I missed it, Phil. Didn't have time for a long ride (or afternoon recovery nap) yesterday, but am hoping to join Middle Ride next Sunday.
(Legs are quivering a bit at the thought and I won't be drinking the night before)
  • Good refresher ride for me. Certainly felt it in the legs.
Tip top route Phil. Nice one
  • That felt more nasty than middle in that heat! Thanks Phil it was a great route although the crossing at Sandy was a bit scary. I thought the recreation of the old Tour de France bar raids was excellent. I'm not sure the publican was too impressed by the 'Where are we?' questions!

The heat got to me at Sutton so Bryn escorted me back to Meldreth and I completed 86 miles and had to have a lie down with a cold flannel on my head all afternoon.
