Mildenhall Rally - Cyclocross
Jon and Cameron (or "Cameroon" as he appeared on Saturday's results) formed a team to compete in the senior Madison cyclocross race. Disaster struck at the start though when Cameron's bike developed a clever automatic immobiliser device, and he had to watch the entire field disappear into the distance. Once the bike was fixed Jon & Cameron dashed over to the commissaire who allowed their team to join the race after the first lap, but they had to join mid-pack rather than at the front where they would have been. They rode like demons though and regained many of the lost places by the end of the race. It's hard to imagine that they wouldn't have been challenging for the lead if they hadn't had problems at the start.
James rode in the Under 12 race and came 5th. He refueled afterwards with a huge piece of "Mars Bar cake", before meeting Rapha-Condor pro Dean Downing (who was a true gent).
