Will, the GD (Geoff Denny) route nevers gets that far from Ashwell. Assuming Robbie is following this route (http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/2430835) clockwise down to Cardington and Blunham, you could turn off after Everton Hill, perhaps? This would give about a 37m Ashwell loop, so 2 and a bit hours.
Not sure I'll be there this week, lads, I seem to have borked a muscle above my knee. Needs a bit of rest, I think.
things are looking for me i am off work again saturday so will be out with you if you let me know the route if its out my way i will meet you on route if not see you at the tuns.
Strappy... going down Langford Hill then taking a right at the bottom.
And Will, yes many turn offs. Think Everton is the one for you as Shaun says.
There's another at Hasslingfield to make a 50m.
We'll go on to Duxford and Chisell.
Thanks guys that was hard and good. Loved the coffee stop and frankly needed it. Probably the longest ride I have done on a fixed gear and I was totally whacked by the time I got home. Good prep for Ghent though. Now trying to find an excuse to pop into Mocktoberfest for some recovery
Great ride all - really enjoyed it. Very nearly tipping into winter riding now - Ghent providing just enough incentive to push the pedals a bit harder.
Hi Nat....yes, there is a 9am nasty boys ride...a bit faster than 16-17 I guess you did today, but should be tailing off for winter mileage. About the same 60-80 miles or so......sure Tristran or Carmelo can fill in details...they don't always do a stop for coffee though.....
I think a ride like the one you did today with the midway break would be a good initiative for the Sunday rides.....pity I'm not there much now as I would be happy to navigate for these
