Hempton X
Great morning out at Hempton today. Weather and course were spot on. The course was in good shape as there had been little rain this week - couple of puddles but nothing that could not be avoided. Course had a bit of everything really. Bomb holes, a sharp climb which had to be carried as they put a high hurdle at the bottom, some single track, rollers and a third of a mile out and back road section which saw some good sprinting to the finish.
Not so much representation from Ashwell today. Was a bit of a long haul up there but results as follows.
Jackie Field 2nd woman
Stuart Field 20th Vet
Was going to put the rest up but they seem to be have taken down from the site. Will try to add later
Others that took part were Noah F Felix F Anna F Theo and Daniel D and Bryn D

Elites/Juniors:
4th - Theo Doncaster
37th - Bryn Davies
46th - Daniel Doncaster
Noah Field was 13th in the Youth race and Felix was 19th in the under 12s.
Those who rode it last year will remember what a good, exciting course it was and the addition of a road section, BMX jumps and a technical "descent to certain death" [Daniel Doncaster] only added to this. The weather was great (surprisingly warm) and made for a good day of racing. As Stuart mentioned, the field was all round rather depleted today, with many not making the long trek to the far east. I'm sure others will agree, however, the journey was worth it for those who did venture out. CCA may not have had many riders out today, but those that were there all rode well to see us finish as the second placed club on the day, cementing our position third in the league table.
Another great result from Theo and those Fields keep moving up the table! I'm never going to keep up with Stuart if he's started getting in the top 20!
Glad were still in 3rd, good stuff.
The rabbit holes you can park a bus in were absent this year from Hempton. Got me thinking, do Norfolk cows live in warrens?
