Just finished reading the Christmas gift. I have to say fantastic book that I literally couldn't put down but I book that has left me saddened, I guess I was naive as I remember following the tour in the 90's avidly and believed it was all talent. Does make you wonder even if half is fabrication or written by someone with less to lose how clean the sport will ever be?
I guess my post is a recommendation but would be interested in fellow views should anyone of read it also.

    My son's words when he passed it to me to read last week were by coincidence just the same as yours. "....it's very sad Dad...."

    I'm currently half way through the book and feel much the same. Some of the pro teams of the period cheated everyone and it reads as though the UCI has much to answer for....
