Saturday 12th Jan 9.30am ride

edited January 2013 in Club runs
OK, its going to be pretty chilly tomorrow, so lets have two options.

We can use Barrington Hill as a decision point, so we can either go for a standard ride length and go right at the bottom of the hill

or if its just too freezing go left at the bottom of the hill and do a version of this route without the second loop (or something similar)

See you in the morning, wrap up warm !

Doing an early ride but I'm going to try and link it up with this one at 9.30 see you all there! Just layer up and it's fineeeeeee
  • i like the 1st route david, see you tomorrow, bracing i thinks the word for the weather
  • I normally join the intro ride or it's equivelent, but if this is not on then I would rather the second slightly flatter route. it's not so much the cold, more the threatened wind that makes me fancy the shorter flatter options. I it is the first route then I will go as far as I can before looking for a shortcut home

Brrrr sums it up pretty nicely. Garmin said we didn't get much above 1degree C
Thanks David - and thanks All for the company
PS Much as we suspected, Shaun didn't get lost ... or at least, if he did, he's been found again :)

Yep, it was chilly but not as cold as the weather forecast made out. Good turnout again this morning and as it was slightly less cold we turned left at the bottom of Barrington hill and came back through little Gransden.

Pretty high pace too for January, 38 miles in the high 15s.

Hope that you are not too sore Tom after your spill on the hill !

Thanks all for another great ride,

    DavidJ
  • All good, just wanted to say a massive thanks to the gent on the Colnago, that helped my set my bike back up afterward.
    Good route again David thanks,

That jolly nice helpful chap in Haslingfield was Rupert I think...

Thanks for another great ride David.

We found out when we got home that Ben had been riding his 32mm Schwalbe Marathons on only 2.0 bar of pressure.

He says he's going to pump them up next time.

    Oh what good idea..
  • Thanks to all for a good ride and also to David for the route.
These winter rides make summer rides and speeds look so much more achievable!
    See you all next time.
