if anybody fancies an alternative, i'm cycling to wales... will be heading to windsor first of all to meet my cousin and his mate, so anybody fancy a little trek through the chilterns? only problem is that i'm leaving mine (letchworth) at 7.45am... windsor by 11 (just under 50 miles). it will be very gentle as i'm doing 120 miles that day, so not pushing up the hills. route is something like hitchin, luton, berkhamsted, chesham, slough, windsor. come along and turn back when you want, the company would be good (this is a kind of empty invite, i doubt anybody would be up for wrenching themselves out of bed so early, but it would be good to have a natter and a pootle and a wheel to follow...).
tailwinds are for cycling with, headwinds are for driving into. a fine motto. i have a lift home on sunday... good ride today, great to see shaun back on the bike! even if he does only change his pants once every three and a half months.
I,m mostly depressed with a stinker of a cold so am unable to join in the fun. I have a 100k cyclocross sportive next weekend in Yorkshire and have hardly ridden all year. Had hoped to ride all Easter weekend. Looks like o miles training will have to do me for next weekend.
Hope it has not been too cold out there.
Enjoy it when you can I say.
