If you have a mtn bike.... 12 May.
I don't mtn bike anymore, though I did this Easter holls'
However, this 50km or 100km or 135km sportive is fast and not at all XC challenging.
It wends its way through the most wonderful Chiltern scenery there is. Tr

It sounds fun.
It's a fast route and quite lovely.

Road riding 'round this area, Ashwell etc is lovely in the summer months with miles and miles of wheat and barley fields, pretty country villages punctuating the ride every few miles (pardon the pun) & good quiet country roads. Really good road riding. One of the reasons I no longer mtn bike is the good raod riding 'round here (Sandon).
But the mtn bike riding 'round the north of Watford-ish, Cheines, Chipperfield etc, that's the most lovely scenery I know of for a good mtn bike ride - outside of proper Scottish, Welsh or Lakeland mountains. Really pretty scenery.
Worth the 1hr drive? Definitely!
