Was going to wait for the results but have just remembered if you are not good enough for top 10 they don't bother recording you. I think this is a real shame as everything else about the organisation and venue is very good. As it is a series it would good to be able to make a comparison against the course and the other riders.
4th cats off first. My first road race. It was a rolling start. I thought this meant we would roll out slowly till the lead car lowered the flag. Not the case. I found myself going backwards through the pack as everyone raced off up the first hill. I think at this point I was nearly last :-( However at the first corner there was a crash so picked up a few people here and spent the 1st couple of laps gradually picking off lone riders. On lap 3 got in with a group of 3 which rose to 8. The difference in pace in even this small pack was huge. Managed a sprint at the end and was 3rd in our little group but as I say with no results I could not say whether I was top 20 or top 80?? I suspect about half way given the amount of people that came off in crashes or punctured. One rider had his carbon frame cracked in a crash.
Tom must have been doing well according to the picture below but I saw him walking after about lap 3. Puncture??
Jackie enjoyed her race but after staying with the main group for longer this time she could then only get working with one other rider which made for a slower ride.
The u14's did well staying with the main group for a couple of laps. Gareth just beat the cut off and did the full 5 laps but Noah and Rosanna were just lapped by the speeding under 16's so finished at 4 laps.
Definitly one to do again but if you are a 4th CAT get in early as this filled the 100 places early.

Punctured lap 2 approx turn 2, course is flint crazy where the tractors cross, organisers said it was swept in the morning but not so sure a 45min walk back pretty much makes me an expert...
Great write up, back for the next one, hopefully better luck next time
