The cost this year will be £3.
Heres those important reminders again....
At the start if you are waiting, please keep off the road and in the layby. The only rider in the road should be the starting rider. the start is on a blind hill and riders spilling into the road creates danger. If you have more than 4 or 5 minutes until your start go and warm up!!
At the finish, DO NOT bother the timekeeper for your time, warm down and then congregate on the concrete pad or the grass triangle, but GET OUT OF THE ROAD. Riders will be finishing at speed and riders milling about in the road is not helpful.
if its a strong southerly wind, do not exceed 30 mph in Guilden ( i realise this may not apply to all) and be polite to the locals even if they are pottering along at 20 mph.
Generally, remember that you have to follow the same rules of the road as everyone else, ie giving way if you have to, stopping at junctions if you have to etc.
Keep your HEAD UP and stay safe.
Would be good for the club to keep 30 riders each week
I've read funny stories about timekeeping going wrong, but ultimately it leaves an unhappy rider! And back at an HQ at the final open Hill Climb of the season last year, after seeing a timekeeper explain to a rider that he had messed up his time (and the rider looked very annoyed), i don't want this happening to me! I need to learn the ropes.
I won't put my name down on the doodle yet until i know what I'm doing. But looking at my TT calendar i can spare some dates from June.
Its really not that complicated just requires a little bit of focus and not getting distracted by people asking you questions while you are timekeeping!
The best thing to do is to put your name down when someone like me, David J or Lindsey is doing it so that you can learn the ropes.

It's not difficult at all to run these evenings - just keep a cool head. So please help out. And run two stopwatches. And maybe even a back-up third from your watch or phone.
We still need plenty of volunteer timekeepers and pusheroffers please.
Just put yer name and tick[s] here;

Just to be clear, any blank spaces mean that the 10 will be cancelled that night, i have no problem with that.
Great if you can volunteer - tick the date[s] you can in the Doodle here;

Remember...
1 timekeeper = up to 21 riders
2 timekeepers = up to 30 riders
0 timekeepers = a cosy evening in with Coronation Street.
Let me know if you're interested. Given the bank holiday it would probably have to be Tuesday early evening if it's next week - or we can do it the following week / weekend. Let me know what suits.

Just a reminder for tonight...it is now £3, and PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE take note of the safety reminders at the top of this thread.

Im away next week though.
Susan
See you there
In fact I'm taking myself out of helping duty, with a baby due any day from now I cannot be relied upon.
Anybody else around to help with the TT? As we normally get more than 20 riders could do with a hand setting off while I go and time the first finishers.
Ive got to come in to Ashwell at about 6.00 tomorrow, ive also got the kit so ill see you at the start and help you setting off.
Folks, fair warning...there are a lot of gaps as we get into August on the doodle and i cant fill them all. We will cancel if there are no helpers.
