European Long Distance Duathlon Champs
Just returned from representing GB at the European Long Distance Duathlon Championships at Horst, Holland. Great venue, great organisation, great race.
15km(9.23m) run in 1hr05min52 (av 7.07min/m)
60km(36.95) bike in 1hr54min 41 (3 laps av 19.7,19.4,19.2) I know that is no great shakes for you cyclists but I am no cyclist and following a 9 mile run I was quite pleased with those times
Final run 7.5 km(4.81m) 38min 50 sec - just had no legs so a fairly pathetic 8.13mins/m av.
I think I felt the effect of the English National Champs just seven days before(especially on the second run) anyway I finished second and took the silver medal which I guess is not bad at the European Champs BUT I did not realise that the Belgian who finished just 13 secs in front of me was in my age group, could I, would I, have caught him if I had known -we will never know.
Anyway a great race, back to training for the Worlds in Switzerland in September now.

BRAVO
Looking forward to seeing you out with the club again, (though not entirely sure I'll be able to keep up with you anymore!)
