09.30 ride - the phoenix rises from the ashes

edited April 2013 in Club runs
Ahoy me hearties
a few cannon balls below the waterline last week
but it takes more to stop a pirate take to the high seas

09.30 from the 3 tuns for a voyage across calm seas
plenty of room for the still wounded
back 12.30ish at 17mph

lets fly the jolly roger in the breeze

  • Calm seas and plenty of room - sounds good to me , see you there.
  • Very tempted, but out for the wife's birthday party tonight and likelihood of grog induced sea-sickness on the 'morrow.
Good luck to fellow sailors, hope ship repairs satisfactory and ragged rocks avoided on voyage!
  • the dirty dozen set off in search of redemption
last weeks dust hung in the air
a taste of danger amongst the testosterone and adrenalin

    yet all went well
50 miles at about 17 mph
...of course I did all the work on the front and hence only managed second in the sprint :-)
Pete took the "last ten yards" title , with phil playing cat and mouse with us into the wind

good ride , good company , good crowd
the Black Pig sails again in all its glory
    see you next week

Don't think the last half mile counts as '' all the work on the front''
    - that is usually the lead out that most give you on any other day!!
and I note you do not give Phil the credit for taking lead for the 8 miles previous to that.
However, agree, good ride, company and coffee after.
More of the same next week.
