Rydale Rumble, August 9. Ampleforth, North Yorkshire.

‘A gentle ride through the hills of North Yorkshire.’

The Ryedale Rumble takes in the climb of Boltby Bank before heading through Helmsley to the North York Moors and the next monument climbs of Blakey Bank and Rosedale Chinmey Bank. Held at a time of year when the North York Moors are at their scenic best, with their carpet of purple heather. Three distances are available Rumble 1 is over 116.9 miles and includes all three climbs. Rumble 2 takes in Boltby Bank and Blakey Bank over 83.8 miles and Rumble 3 gives you the one monument climb of Blakey Bank and a distance of 55.6 miles. The venue is the magnificent Gilling Castle home to Ampleforth St Martins Preparatory School, from where the journey to the Abbeys and hills of Ryedale begins.
