Hitchin Nomads Open 25 - 1st June

edited May 2013 in Time Trial
So the start sheet is just out, great turn out of CCA. START SHEET

Me
Lee Holmes
Julian Pegg
Michael Martin
Jason Stuart
Ellis Dudley

Shame there is no team prize, i think we'd have a decent shot at it.

Hutch is there again, I reckon he wants to get a 49 after his 50 last year. If he catches me something has gone wrong! And some other fast guys there, some in preparation for the National 25 the following weekend.

Looking forward to this :)

Comments

  • Might have to "cheat" in this one and put some aero bars on!!
  • If anyone is out on an after lunch ride, say hello, its on the F14 round Guilden.

Hutch retained his National 10 title last weekend, he's off last at 3pm.
  • Jason - 57:26
    Ellis - 1:01:52
    Me - 1:01:56
    Julian - 1:01:58
    Michael - 1:06:13
    Lee - 1:10:47

Top rides. Ellis with just clip ons, get that TT bike you were talking about!
A van cut me up and cost me 30s and 3 places :(
I think Julian missed the first turn.
And i predicted right, Hutch did a 49:55!

Cheers Tom T for shouting us along.
North Road CC have their club 25 on this next weekend if you fancy going around again.
  • Edit - NRCC have cancelled their club event.

    Anyway, FULL RESULTS

And some brilliant photo's by the guy at the bottom of the hill, i believe he is Team Trisports, and he has created a CCA only album: HERE

I'll be tinkering with my frontal position!
  • Good ride fellas, good times.

Nice photos and its really helpful to see those to evaluate your own position. Chris, position looks pretty good to me, maybe you could get your elbows closer together if possible. And a pointy hat?
  • Yep will be playing around with the arm pads and bars. Just look at Hutch's position.
A helmet is on the cards but not immediate.
I had a good laugh with a guy from Trisports talking about his Kask Bambino, he looked rather shocked when i told him i couldn't even buy two of them for the same cost as my bike :)
  • yes, some things to be learnt from my experience at the Nomad's 25! This was my first 25, so even though my time was rubbish, its a PB. I "blew" at 20 miles and crawled home, despite Jason's effort to encourage me as he flew past.

    1: Warm up = good
2: not leaving sufficient time from warm up to start = not good
    3: chamoix creme = good
4: not putting chamoix creme on (see no. 2) = not good
5: scrambled eggs on toast = good
6: only eating scramled eggs on toast several hours before TT = not good

7: from the photos. elbows in, arse up!!!

    lets see what Weds brings
