If all groups ride the 9 miler, it makes it a great deal simpler for the rejects such as I who get dropped by each successive group, so I don't then have to then decide, coming out of Bassingbourne, do I take the 5 mile short cut or the 9 mile route so as to get back into a group?
point made Tim......but it's not about what's easiest for those who are dropped.......the starter group is about learning to ride at pace and the shorter circuit offers more laps at a slower pace and is free from temptation or distraction when faster ones pass
