ID tags

edited August 2013 in General
Apparently a few people have been asking about ID tags to wear on rides in case of an accident - they have your details / nest of kin / blood group / medical data on etc.
In case you are interested:

One of our riders has just ordered a tag from these people: 1band

And I used these for Lejog last year, cheaper but they do wear out: ice tag

  • On a similar note, I learnt a useful tip during first aid courses.

create an entry in your phone titled ICE - In Case of Emergency - and have your NOK number/name etc. attached to it. Ambulance crews, paramedics etc are trained to look for this in your phone.
  • I was aware of that one Peter, but it has been pointed out if you have a key pad lock a rescuer would not get into phone.

However app for iPhone is Ride ID that shows ICE detail in lock screen just for that situation.
  • I have one of these attached to the back strap of my crash helmet...have done for a couple of years. from Yikes ID...good idea especially when out and about on your own!
  • Thanks for tip Adam. Installed Ride ID on my phone
  • There's an android version of Ride ID too. Just installed on my Samsung
    Great idea
