0930 ride 29th September

edited September 2013 in Club runs
As the captain has jumped ship for a couple of weeks I have volunteered to do this week's ride and thought a trip to Kimpton via Hexton and Lilley with a cafe stop option at Whitwell would be nice weather pending.

  • Ahoy shipmates
No sailing for Barnabas for a few weeks while undergoing repairs
4 weeks ago the ship's surgeon 4 weeks ago missed the fact that my main spar was splintered in 3 places
He needs keel-hauling for his incompetence.
In dry dock for the foreseeable future, might need a hook to replace my hand!

  • Thanks for a great ride. Sorry I couldn't keep up in the end. Better next time. John
  • Thanks for a great ride everyone and thanks Mick for leading it. See you all next time. Rupert
  • ahoy Barnabas

a hook is good for picking the nose in traffic and hill climbs beside a mountain goat
looks like the crew is breaking out the rum already in my absence

    skulduggery reigns

A hook indeed would be useful for those activities
Or slicing the gizzard of the useless ship's surgeon.
'A further 3 weeks off sailing', he opined today on HMS Lister,
Makes it only 1 outing in 2 months.
Plenty of grog to see me through
But all form blown to the 4 winds
    Blast and botheration

  • sorry to hear the redcoats got you
we will reserve your place on the port side
will get a fat bloke on the starboard to balance you off !

enjoy the grog, may as well
speaking of which time for another

  • Always happy to have port reserved for me
    Would rather drink it though
Meanwhile have found Scarlet Macaw from Oakham Ales a comforting drop
While drifting listless in the doldrums awaiting repair and a fair wind
