Walden Velo "Trans Anglia XC Sportive - Sunday 13th October

edited October 2013 in Sportives
Don't Know if anybody else has received this but looks like a good one for families.

To: All Club Secretaries, Organisers, Riders and Colleagues

With less than 14 days to go before "on line entry" closes, we thought that we should bring you up to speed with our first "Off Road" Sportive for MTB or CX Riders who will want to try a choice of three distances - 30/50 or 80k.

From the newest Club in Essex that brought you "Ride 101-Sportive" and "1WV MTB Evening Racing Series" that knows what you want from an Event.

A great ride route, great facilities and great value for money.

Designed with you in mind, we have three different courses for you to come and try on your *MTB* or *Cyclocross* Bike.

All marked out on the day, maps and GPS downloads provided - these routes will give you a great chance to explore, take on and enjoy the bridleways
of North West Essex and South Cambridgeshire.

We will be using the Airfield facilities at Carver Barracks, Wimbish, Saffron Walden, Essex - which includes free "off-road" parking, men's and
women's shower and changing facilities and we will have plenty of tea & cakes for when you return!

Choose from:-

30k Course - a relaxed course, designed for the novice and for families
50k Course - for the more experienced rider looking for a great ride out
80k Course - known as the "The Epic" and it definately is!

Or do all three!!

Entry for children is from £5.50 and adults is from £10 (and yes you can ride all three for £10!)

For more details click on the British Cycling link below, which includes "on-line" entry:-

PLEASE REMEMBER "ON-LINE ENTRY" CLOSES ON 08/10/13

(ENTRY IS AVAILABLE ON THE DAY, BUT WILL BE £15 FOR ADULTS, £8.50 FOR UNDER 18'S)

  • Oooh, that sounds really good.

Sadly, it clashes with the Hillyfields supercross which is where most of our cx will likely be.
