Turbo trainer help

edited October 2013 in General
Hoping someone can recommend a decent turbo, I've got some rollers already but want a turbo to get plenty of intervals and if stable enough sprints in.
I been looking at the elite qubo as it gives you watts but seems to have mixed reviews.
Any help appreciated
Cheers

I have got the version below this but if I could have afforded it I would've bought

    http://www.wiggle.co.uk/tacx-satori-high-power-cycle-trainer/

Mine does move around on wood floor when you put massive power down, no idea why / how to solve it ive only used turbo twice :$

    edit power sounds nice though...................
  • I use a magnetic one which has a good resistance but is relatively quiet (still all turbos are loud)
I wouldn't worry about stability during sprints, putting a yoga mat or similar down will reduce sound and slippage.
whatever you do don't buy a fan resistance turbo, it sounds like a freakin jet engine and provides as about much resistance as a small mouse.
not sure about all turbos but with mine you can calculate power with speed, for example cycling at 20mph on the turbo means 300 watts.
  • Cheers guys
  • I've got the elite elastogel turbo with a wireless head unit which gives out the usual data plus power. Its pretty good and whilst I haven't got a clue if the power reading is very accurate it does give you a meter to work against.

The qubo seems to be the new and improved version. Welcome to have test mine if it helps with year decision.
