Sunday gales and curses - turbo salvation

edited October 2013 in Club runs
Ahoy me hearties

It seems a swine curse has descended
gales predicted for Sunday
my peg leg going off but still a bit dodgy
not set sail for 2 weeks now

So anyone with true pirate spirit post a 09.30 start
I am going to have to play it by ear - sorry

So spit the curse in the eye
pirates post if you are going
I will be feeling sick as a parrot in me cabin

CP

I will appear over the horizon soon, fear not

  • A curse has been put on the Black Pig?
It's enough to make some dance and jig

    The Cap'n's knee
    Means we're all at sea

So open the grog and take a huge swig.
  • leg getting better, wind worse, pardon
either heavy rain or bright sun tomorrow according to deep thought
    money well spent
getting withdrawls for the high seas
So turbo or turn up that is the question
    only tomorrow will tell
turn back your clocks and follow your hearts

    Indecisive Cap'n.
glad to hear the peg leg is recovering
Admiralty long range weather unit clueless
Bring back Fish, he knows when a schtorm's coming.
I'm out of plaster but banned from schailing by the schip's schurgeon.
    Extra hour in bed.
No schow next week either as in Manchester watching Clancy, Kenny etc in World Cup indoor schailing.

  • cut throat jake is tucked up in bed
sounds a great place it has to be said

said something about the wind and falls
apparently he does not have the courage

I then remarked "of course you are right "
this gave him such a terrible fright
( not used to it )

So once again the turbo beckons
it is the safe bet the captain reckons

to all you pirates with more gumption
I salute your courage and your compunction

So stay in bed and and best of luck
what you do is entirely up to you

Bad arms and legs, the Pig is blighted
Out on the roads, no pirates are sighted

Cut Throat Jake has lost his nerve
Since falling off, no time to swerve

The Cap'n's steadfast in dry dock
His leg can't take the wind and shock

And still no sign of one-armed Joop
Providing the shelter from on the poop

Our fitness levels are now in debit
We didn't listen to that rogue, Tebitt

But we'll be back and Pigs will fly
And 'CHANGE!' will be the battle cry.
  • Since falling off , lost my nerve????
    Rumours abound while not around

    Head and nerve still intact,
    No problems after the impact

Problem not upon the head, but
more when I'm seated, must be said.

    Getting better week by week,
should soon be riding, in the peak.
  • so off they set,one leg,one cheek and one returned
the black pig remnants who have lately been burned

they discussed the merits of strictly and whats been said
so more more fun than lying in bed

after an hour the crew was quite excited
the desire for the high seas had been reignited

So dust off off the jolly roger for next time
and practice your sentences to end in rhyme

So to Gandalf, frankie, R2D2 et al
we all salute you, adieu dear pal

with the breeze in your beard and a glint in the eye
lets hoist the mizzen, its time to fly

    See you soon

  • So, I'll retract the words I said
Cut Throat Jake's not lost his head

Perhaps I talked a load of pony
But good to hear of pirate Tony

Who has returned from furthest climes
To aid the Black Pig and our rhymes

Although our crew is now depleted
Jake is back and can be seated

And so goes on our merry fable
Recalled with grog at the Cap'n's table.

  • This morning was a good ride. No rain, not that windy, warm and few cars on the road! Went out to Potton mast and round on a big loop on one of the Buy Now bikes. Good to see that the Three Tuns is open again.

Sorry that you missed a good morning and look forward to seeing you all next time.
