Welcome to the forum
Sunday 09.30 ride
Ahoy fellow nudists
hello, hello who goes there ?
its Captain pugwash all laid bare
of course, of course a massive surprise
no one can hardly believe their eyes !
but now here comes the revelation
the hidden truth of this poetic circulation
it is only all a bit of a josh
cos pirates speak is a lot of tosh
so to anyone who cares not for the current pomp
the black pig sails on a jolly romp
so see at 09.30 to all set sail
we ride at 15mph for 40 miles ,winter bikes, small ring , high cadence, aerobic zone
for those who like cycling
......change......

Has been revealed as James Boyle
Not Frankie, Gandalf or R2D2
Or others claiming 'it's me', too
Whatever next, is Cut Throat Jake
Small, diminutive Charlie Drake?
Noggin, Joop and Barnabas are long gone
But the Flailing Dutchman still sails on
From the shadows the pirates jump
Armed with nothing but a pump
Add some jokes and common sense
To have some laughs, not cause offence
A bit of banter and some fun
Along the road, on our club run
A motley crew is what we are
Sailing the Pig, near and far
We're jolly tars, a welcome bunch
So come with us, be back for lunch
We'll put a smile on every face
Just don't expect a full on race
But watch the Cap'n at the end
And you will see a sneaky trend
Throughout the ride he's in the pack
Pretending he's a lucky Jack
But near to Ashwell, as we're freewheeling
That's when Pugwash comes a dealing
Thinking that you have his measure
He sprints right by, to steal the treasure!
B
Thank you for organising.
James (piano tuner) if you will make it I will grab a Buy Now bike and be there for 9.30 too,
Rupert
Hope the knee mends quickly
A full and fine crew came out to see
The captain without any modesty
He had to dart from tree to tree
as he is now exposed down to the knee
so time to let "name gate" take its course
pirates have no time for remorse
on Chrishill climb there was a strange affair
the captain went down and showed his derriere
so never look back while drinking the rum
or else you will look foolish and land on your bum
the crew smelt blood and took their chance
a opportunity on the sprint for glory and advance
the scene was set with lots of cunning
and peg leg captain was out of the running
so thanks to all for a great occasion
the pirates live on till we collection our pension
See you next week
CP
Thanks for a great ride and coffee afterwards too! I think we had the best of the day. See you all next time.
Rupert
43 miles @ around 15.5mph...and a lot of loitering around country lanes waiting for repairs...the same guy passed us at least 5 times and we were stationary for most of them!
Nonetheless, for my first ride out since early September, it was very enjoyable and good to see you all again.
