edited December 2013 in Club runs
Ahoy me hearties

not looking so good on the weather front
wet and cold with a south westerly
for those doing post ride, feel free to drop a bag to change
( I have 16 - 20 at last count )
aim to be back for 12 , hence 35 miles at 15 mph

looks a day for the steely eyed and strong heart
...and to hide in the pack

see you tomorrow

It's windy so the Cap'n's aiming to shirk
To hide in the pack, avoid all the work

His face will not be seen in the lead
Of that I'm sure we can all be agreed

As he nears the front, expect the cry 'CHANGE'
We all move about, isn't that strange?

That he's again found himself at the back
And arranged for the crew to lead the attack

Hidden in the bunch, always in shelter
The Pig sails stormy waters, helter skelter

But see his face show, as we near the end
Gathering speed, off the final bend

The Cap'n attacks, his crew mates scattered
Their dreams of the treasure, once again shattered!

    Hopefully see you tomorrow.

  • Hi Flailing Dutchman,

    Met you brother last weekend.

Am happy to ride at front with you as needed.

See you tomorrow, looking at the satellite picture we could get away with showers.

  • Ahoy fellow voyageurs

lets spit in the eye of the storm
yes we set sail, but will stay local
12 o clock at mine for those joining later

length of run will be set by conditions, a few bail out points as required
speed slow, till we have had enough

a curse on davy jones locker,
    host the main sail
set course into the eye of the storm
    its a pirates life
a warm harbour waits your return

  • A great gathering of pirates, I heard say
appeared by magic, a magnificent day

The gusts died down, the clouds dispersed
the sun appeared, just as rehearsed

Back for Captains sausage, wrapped up in a bun
all that participated, never had so much fun

a surprise by Santa, sticky moments DVD
appeared by magic, from under the tree

tee shirt presented, identity laid bare
the Captain was outed , no longer a care

The gunners plotted , the wounded return
For the Pig's bosom, they continuously yearn

So Merry Christmas to you all , whoever you maybe
and unlike Richard, may it make you happy

    CP

see you Sunday , may post a ride thurs or friday , watch the forum

    Dashing through the lanes
    No horse in the way

    By the fields we go
    Laughing all the way

    Bell's on Captain's head
    Sunlit, shining bright

What fun it is to ride and sing
A pirates' song by that light

    Cap'n's Bell, Cap'n's Bell,
    led them all the way
On the final Black Pig voyage
    Before Christmas Day

    A week or two ago
    The captain lost his lid

    His helmet was gone
    Oh where was it hid?

    Now it has returned
    Captain's smile is bright

And he's holding on to it
    Hands wrapped round it tight

    Cap'n's Bell, Cap'n's Bell,
    led them all the way
On the final Black Pig voyage
    Before Christmas Day!

    Merry Christmas everyone.

Thanks for the kind hospitality The Pugwashes.
    Hope you enjoy the grog.

  • Hi James

Thank you very much for your hospitality today! We really enjoyed it.

The wind had increased significantly by the time that Shaun and I rode back from Ashwell so we obviously got it right weatherwise earlier today.

    Thank you,

    Rupert

    jingle all the way
    FD shows his prowess
    with his words to play
    ......
    stormy night
    gave us a fright

    all was calm
    weather was bright

    road was virgin
    but ran over that child

    squashed infant
    peloton did pile

    FD called the police
    FD called the police

    .....

    sherry is good

    Captain Pugwash's crew rode out
    On the hills of Sandon

Groans and moans were all about
    Some of them abandoned

Tightly went the sprint all right
    End result was cruel

When the Captain came in sight
    Winner of the duel!

Stop me, I'll get me coat!!
