paranoid purchasing

edited January 2014 in General
I've found a Cube Agree Ultegra Di2 SLT compact for £1899. I've sat on it and talked to the guys in the shop about it, but not ridden it yet. Before I get too tempted by it, I would be very grateful for any advice anyone could give. Thanks

  • Susan, not sure if its of any help or indeed the same bike but there is a review on Bike radar - http://www.bikeradar.com/road/gear/category/bikes/road/product/review-cube-bikes-agree-gtc-di2-slt-13-47305/
    Just a thought
  • Susan, A carbon bike with Di2 £1899 don't think you will go far wrong with a saving of £900, the colour scheme looks more appealing than some Cube bikes Iv'e recently seen. See if you can get a demo ride 1st though as it's a lot of money to part with and then to find you don't feel comfortable on it. Bottom line, you would be buying it because you like it.

  • Yes, agree with Shelton, carbon frame and di2 for £1800 seems great value. Even if the wheels arent up to much you can always upgrade those later.
    Just make sure it fits!
  • Cubes are pretty great value anyway let alone when they're almost a grand cheaper, also they use decent finishing kit which is rare on a complete bike.
It depends what your priorities are; from the sounds of the bike radar link, this is more of a gran fondo bike for sportive style riding.
However that does in no way mean it's not suitable for racing it just means the geo is a tad more relaxed and it feels a bit flexy going up steep climbs or on sprints.
I would say unless your only using this bike for circuit races this is a mega bargain.
  • Thank you so much for your comments. I looked at the review, and also found some others later. I took the bike for a test, and guess what, it came home with me!
