Central League Rd 11 at Welwyn

edited January 2014 in Road Racing
Good CCA turnout at the final Central League fixture at the wonderful Stanborough Park course in Welwyn saw 9 riders in blue across the following categories:

U10

Joseph Hadley 4th
Nathan Hardy 9th

U12

Freddie Cooke 7th
Felix Field 17th

Youth

Noah Field 6th

Junior

Cameron Woolsey 1st

Women

Jackie Field 5th

Vets 40-49

John Polak 3rd
Stuart Field 19th

Well done to all. We had sunshine and mud, what more could we have asked for. 50+ National Champion and 60+ World Champion to race against perhaps? Yes we had those too.

It was a bit slippy.

  • In the U10s category, in the final league standings Joseph Hadsley finished 3rd and Nathan Hardy finished 6th.

    Well done boys
  • Oh, and in Sunday's race in the Vet 40-49, David Hadsley, thought not strictly speaking CCA finished in 27th.

Nice to meet you after the race David.
  • Likewise John, nice to meet you too. Congrats on your 3rd place, great result.

Yes would agree this was a great race. Slightly different layout to the Eastern course but conditions making it considerably tougher. Interesting to ride with a different league and the way they started every age group in waves. That meant that slower riders were lapped easily by the fast juniors (Cam). Results service not as slick as the Eastern ones which are on line before you have time to clean the bikes.
Might try some more next year though.

  • National Champ.

    World Champ.

You'd never have guessed you were in Welwyn.
  • Note the use of the clincher and tub combo. No wonder I got lapped.
  • Great pictures, thanks.

Yes its a good course that one, well done to all the central leaguers, maybe we can have a crack at both leagues next year?

    Clinchers and tubs.....ooh the shame.

And yes it was a bit muddy...

  • I had always intended to ride both Tim, but ended up with too many conflicts...
