Cycling at the Cambridge Science Festival
Some events from the Cambridge University Science Festival programme that might be of interest.
Can science make a cyclist faster? A talk by Professor Tony Purnell of the University's Engineering Department, also the Head of Technology for British Cycling on how science and technology have contributed to the raw speed of all Olympic cycling disciplines. Synonyms for 'marginal gains' appear several times in the advert.
I also noticed a talk on 'How the bicycle got its spokes' but this is already sold out!
There's plenty of other interesting things in the programme, but nothing else that that I thought was relevant to mention here.

This should be interesting. It will be interesting to get a lecture from someone we race against!
Someone you race against?
