Sunday 09.30 2nd ride

edited March 2014 in Club runs
Ahoy me hearties

Just went for "one" on friday
feeling knackered this week
Southerly wind will pick up by midday , so head South and get blown back
Nice and easy , 14 mph , enjoy the scenery not the handlebars

    Ahoy Cap'n.

'One' is a dangerous number. Always better to have several more to make sure.

Which route south Cap'n? Might start from home port and join up along the way.

    FD
  • Need to work it out.
Probably via baldock, on the cut through.
See you by knights templar ?
  • Looks like sat route again
    Two in a row ?
    CP
  • You mean today's route again?
  • Gentlemen this kind of indecision breeds mutiny, 9.30 I'll be on hand
  • If you're heading on the same route as the 9.30 saturday route from today, I'll meet you in Meppershall at 10.15.

    FD
  • If we are doing the same route tomorrow as today, I will meet you at the top of Hexton Hill!!
  • You mean you'll be up the road again, Pete?!
  • Girls please
    We set sail at 09.30
Telling the crew the route is always a bad idea
    They believe in sea monsters
    Bald ok, Preston and beyond

    You will love it
    CP
  • Ah, the reverse of the Saturday route.
Didn't think you fancied seeing your breakfast on Hexton Hill, Cap'n.
See you in Gt Wymondley/Willian at 10.15.
Pull hard on those oars and don't be late

    FD
  • Ahh that's better, scupper all plans on how to get the captains booze sodden bones up Hexton hill. FD sailing from a foreign port these days. Is it the lure of a pretty maiden or a bacon sandwich me wonders
  • A happy crew at last
    Take the easy route
    CP
  • A ronseal ride again
40 miles at 14.4mph, with a few hills thrown in
Crew peeled off at the sight of local maidens
Left captain and john to claim any glory

    Fun as always
Talk of good vibrations, Daily Mail scandals involving solicitors and bananas, fireside Jake with his pipe and slippers, Cap'n's table plans, Garibaldis......don't remember any local maidens though.
    See you all soon

    FD
  • Most agreeable going the wrong way down Hexton Hill! Me thinks my draughting skills need to be looked at rather than flying solo down the road as well as my break etiquette, apologies John for rushing your banana
  • Perhaps enlightenment may come your way yet
Solo trips do nothing for the crew
Rushed banana with a solicitor may bring consequences

    CP
  • The Black Pig flies along better when all work together.

Constant solo forays off the front will soon earn you the new name of Sir Chay Blyth.

Never mind solicitors with bananas, an even more worrying sight was when you all whipped your bananas out together near Hexton!

    FD
  • Aye! It 'twas a fine sight, 6 grown men in tights each with their banana in hand. No wonder I found the urge to create a little distance
  • a magnificent sight to behold
all windward but one, he soon changed course
    make a fine postcard
