Great Showing For CCA Youth - Team MK Spring Youth Circuit Races #3 - 29th March

Yesterday saw the 3rd round of the Team MK youth circuit races at the National Bowl in Milton Keynes. 6 riders represented CCA at the event across 3 races. Great showing from the team with podium positions across of the races we took part in!

Under 8's - CCA: Samuel Quiggin
With a determined look on his face throughout, Samuel led from the from the front in this 2 lap race, keeping clear of his rivals for the entirety. He eventually finished with over 100 yard gap on 2nd place. It was great to see the very your riders taking part as there were riders in the race from ages 4 up!

Under 10's - CCA: Mark Lightfoot, Joseph Hadsley, Nathan Hardy
This was a competitive outing with all 3 CCA riders staying in the bunch of 8-9 riders throughout the 5 laps of the race. The start of the race was quite chaotic with it taking the first half lap for the bunch to form. Our CCA riders stayed with bunch through the various accelerations of the first part of the race. By lap 4 Joseph was stringing out the bunch from the front across the back straight. By the bell the bunch was all together again into the final lap, leading to a bunch sprint for the line. 2 riders went clear on the final climb for the win with Mark Lightfoot coming across the line in 4th place and Nathan a couple of places back. Unfortunately Joseph unclipped in the gallop and freewheeled over the line at the back of the bunch. Better luck next time Joseph.

Under 12's - CCA: Adam Lightfoot, Harley Pell
Both Adam and Harley rode well in this 7 lap race. The main group of 8-9 riders stayed together for the first 5 laps with Adam and Harley in the mix. On the 5th lap Harley looked like she had been distanced by the group on the climb but her determination really showed and she chased back on to rejoin on the back straight on lap 6, in part bolstered by Sheltons booming encouragement! Adam attacked on the back straight of lap 6 stringing out the bunch as they entered the final climb to the line, going for a long one, however the group remained entact. As they got to the finish line at the top of the drag Adam sprinted to 3rd place and Harley was 1st girl.

Unfortunately I didn't manage to get any shots from the day, but I think others did.

Great afternoons racing for CCA.
