bikes finally sorted, but now forecast wet
so East again into the rain and breeze
winter stuff order of the day
40 -45 miles
conditions to decide the route
Try crisps , nuts or chips to help with recovery
These blend with electrolytes very well
I tried this Friday night combined with several games of pool
A fine sport to burn the calories as well
Felt fresh and spritely in the morning
A testing course and energy sapping. No pool, but then I've never been a keen swimmer. Leave that to the triathletes. And running. Several drinks handed to me by team mates proved dehydrating, so I kept drinking to keep my body in balance. Felt a bit unsteady by the finish though. Will see if I can manage to recover overnight for the Black Pig stage, but today has really depleted my glucose levels, despite the post event chicken kebab topping up reserves.
Nice gentle ride over a few slight bumps
Did most of the work as usual :-)
Mick and the dehydrated one did a good final lead out
Green machine ready for an outing soon
Good turn out , great route
Chip diet working well
James the Younger won the sprint, Cap'n pipped again. Needs more chips. He'll get them at the Rovers Return on the Costa del Inglese next week with some Nookie Brown.
Speaking of which, time for an electrolyte drink to replenish the reserves from today's efforts......

I know I need to, but have de Ronde van Hitchinpubben to negotiate this evening.
Always a tough one and despite constantly sipping 'electrolyte' drinks, I'm always left feeling dehydrated the following day.
When are you off sailing around the Spanish Main with No Nonsense Nick?
