Sky Ride leader course June 7th
See the attached free one day course to become a Sky Ride leader, in Cambridge. Note this relates to leading the BC Sky Ride events for the local community, not our club rides. Nevertheless it will be interesting and should provide useful info for anyone who navigates club rides from time-to-time. Note also that there is a requirement to commit to leading guided rides in the summer.
CYCLE RIDE LEADERS WANTED IN CAMBRIDGE
British Cycling is on the hunt for keen cyclists in Cambridge to become Ride Leaders and help inspire more people to get on their bikes and start cycling for fun.
On Saturday 7 June British Cycling is running a free, assessed one-day course for local cyclists in Cambridge.
British Cycling welcomes all kinds of cyclists to become Ride Leaders as long as you have heaps of enthusiasm and youre happy to support beginner bike riders and families. Theres no need to be a cycling expert or competitive racer, just be confident riding in a group and have a good level of fitness.
In becoming a British Cycling Ride Leader youll be qualified to lead guided bike rides for groups of beginner and intermediate level adults and accompanied children on roads and cycle paths.
Free Ride Leader training course in Cambridge:
What: British Cycling Ride Leadership Award course
When: 7th June 2014
Cost: FREE
After completing the leadership award, Ride Leaders will receive free kit and British Cycling Ride membership.
In return, we expect Ride Leaders to be flexible with their weekend availability and commit to leading guided rides on no less than four weekends from June 2014 to September 2015. All rides are delivered on set routes, at set times, specified by British Cycling, the majority of rides will take place on Sundays during the spring and summer months.
