  • Out for some secret training today on leafy lanes and rolling countryside beyond Buntingford, the Pelhams, Nuthampstead etc. Lovely weather augurs well for tomorrow...

What are the 4b's other than 4 beers?

Big Mig was a freak in the mountains.

Bigger FD doesn't climb too well. It's supposed to be fun, remember?

    I am reviewing the situation...

  • Come now Oliver, you know you need to eat your gruel
We can sing on the B's

    See you soon
    CP
  • That was fun in the hills.....

.....er, at least the downhill bit was from off the Sandon escarpment to Odsey. 40mph+

Plenty of Spanish kit on display. I win the best retro look, if not the sprint. Crafty Capitan hid in the bunch as usual and saved it all for the finish. There' goes a wise and cunning man. Or something like that.

Zummerzet Mendips for me next week. Gorging on Cheddar.
Chiltern 100 the week after, followed by Dragon ride.

    Hasta la vista.

  • The 4 B's ride lived up to the rhetoric.
Spanish sunshine, Spanish kit, Spanish climbs
Even the bullet swore before the last climb
Great country roads, good company, good build up

48 miles at 15.5mph, but lots of hills
Fagin got his DJ hill, he loves it !
Also did the lead out in full retro gear
( Rupert would have been envious )

Captain had the right coloured shirt on - Green
And GC for being at all 3 events

Great weekend, hope more to come

Continuing the Spanish theme by an afternoon siesta followed by vino de la tierra de Castilla. What an excellent day.

Taken the ONCE top off though.....

....thoughts now turn to an excursion to France or Belgium later in the year.

  • Can get 2 in the Mini countryman plus 2 bikes, or 3 if I buy a suitable rack for a hatchback...might need 2 cars to suit everyone who's expressed an interest.

  • Sounds like a great weekend and an interest trip, secret training Dutchman? was that for Friday night?

    see you soon

Pete3 was Pete2 might be Pete4 at this rate
  • Pete, you were missed at the finish!

The secret training was on Saturday, after the Friday night. I've already had enough training for the non-cycling part of cycling....think beer and chips while talking about all things cycling with like-minded friends.

Well done on the Revolution, btw.

    FD
  • Thanks John.....Revolution was fab but 3 times more climbing on day 1 than they stated on the ride details. It was my first sportive and very well organised. Enjoyed and the sunshine helped
Beer and chips seem a good idea now
  • what kind of riding are you thinking! (in france)

    hills?
