Saturday 24th May 9.30am club ride

edited May 2014 in Club runs
Late post this week as trying to decide on a route based on the ever changing forecast.

So let's give this ride a go:

Thought that we could go in a southerly direction and do the route that circumnavigates Stevenage.

Ashwell-Whitwell-Knebworth-Aston-Cromer-Ashwell

  • The wet day :-)
  • Bring your snorkels and flippers!
  • Sure was a day for snorkels and flippers! Think the deluge at about 8am scared everybody off as there was only five of us out today (Emma, Jenny, Dave, Alan and myself)

Conditions can best be described as biblical, thought that we might have needed an ark at one point! Did get better in the second half of the ride though, the sun came out around knebworth which made it like riding through a tropical jungle!

Picked up a nice tailwind on the way back, and Alan won the solo sprint down to slip end !!

Final stats were 41 miles @ a shade under 15. Great ride, thanks all. Hope everybody else enjoyed their lie in :-)
  • My sat morning in bed was great thanks
    Flippers still in cupboard
    Respect to the 5 !
Did you see Russell Crow ?

  • Thanks for a great ride, we will attempt to find some mud guards next time we get that much rain!
