Ahoy Polar explorers

The pig sets sail for the Antarctic
Inspired by Scot's note book found on his body last Monday
Penguins not Polar Bears for us though

so fill your bottles " we may be gone for some time "

we are heading in the summer for the best of the weather

09.30 , 45 - 50 miles, 16 -17 mph

White shoes and socks are the thing. Sun glasses to stop the solar glare.
First to see a Penguin is the King

  • See you there. Missed the last two rides.
  • Will grab an old blue bike and join you for part or all of the ride, if that's ok. Look forward to it.

  • Large crew of 14 filled the Pig
Good route to Ampthill and sharpenhoe on a fine sunny day
    50 miles at 16.7mph
A few splits due to junctions and size of group but mainly ok

Let's hope more fine weather to come

  • Thanks for a very pleasant ride, think the splits were inevitable given the size of the group and busy roads but all home safely. Very kind to pass my abode so i could peel off for those extra brownie points,i would only have come 2nd in the sprint anyway
    Pete
  • Thanks to James for organising it and thanks to all for making it a great ride. Distance and speed were as advertised - ideal for riding the retro Gios from the 1970s.

Look forward to seeing you all next time,

    Rupert
