An epic ride, excellent day, especially now as my legs have recovered! Thanks for organising Martin and thanks to those who towed me the last 10k into KL

Great day out, and as always great people to ride with, topped off with an a apres ride sesh afterwards.
Good idea for a similar ride at the end of April/early May to get slackers like me on the bike earlier in the season.
Let me echo all of the above remarks. Many thanks to Martin for a great day. I found the malted recovery drink worked very well. I wasn't dehydrated at all on Saturday. I guess it is just a matter of having the right number of pints at KL and again at the Three Tuns.
What about Ashwell (Herts) to Ashwell (Rutland) and back, as a season opener? Has anyone done this? I know it was discussed a while ago. Is it about 65- 70 miles each way? Is that a bit too long for that time of year?
That Ashwell village is a bit of a dump and has a prison for good measure. Went there out of curiosity. Wouldn't want to go there again. Good countryside though. Glad everyone had such a good club ride. Write-ups great and such a large number. Well done all, especially the hard men of the return ride.
Thanks for all the kind words. Lots learned to make next year's Classic even better too. Note: if the Paris-Nice trip goes ahead, 2015 date will probably change to a little later.
I've thrown together the video clips I made along the way. It's not exactly snappy - but captures the vibe pretty well[s].

True to form, me and my Garmin managed to separate a small group from the main peleton!
Highlight, was somehow navigating back to meet the group.
Next year in the diary.
