Just back from a week skippering a narrowboat in sun-scorched Wales, no-one lost overboard, no sinkings, keel-haulings or walking the plank, hence should make tomorrow.
Chance of a passing shower tomorrow....which is also an adequate description of our group....apart from Rupert that is and his fleet of shining Colnagos!
Buntingford, saffron walden, chrishill and back
Good ride
The bullet started his "nasty boy " tricks near the end
Yes brake at the bottom of hills and then kick
Captain coached him on that one.
PS since the 9am ride is posted as a club run can new starters be directed to that.
The 09.30 whilst steady , it is not for beginners to the club
Unfortunately 2 directed to this ride where clearly out of their depth and had to be left.
45 miles at 17 mph is not for new starters
Good point JB - anyone who finds the 9.30 pace a bit much should opt for the 9.00 Club Run where you should always be looked after and the group will ride at a rate to suit the slowest/most knackered:)

Peacock award..... Who looks better than Rupert

Cannot get out first thing now, so enjoy your ride.
Solo voyage for me, 40 miles @ 16.5mph....on the front as usual!

Assume you got the crew member to do all the work opening the locks whilst you held the tiler steady
Yes a true Captain.

Yes indeed, a willing and able crew member was there to support my skippering the craft through troubled waters!
Even managed to take the Brompton along for a few rides along the quiet and flat towpath. Bliss.
Back with the crew next week, before another 2 week holiday beckons. It's a tough life.
Btw who won the Peacock award for best turned out rider?
FD
seems to be the new black
No Rupert to judge, but the Captain looked mighty fine :-)
CP
another order going in
all ready for the vuelta !
Spanish chic

Might have to get some accessories to match the shirt colour scheme.
Despite the n+1 optimum bike formula, I don't think the Flying Dutchwoman will sanction the funds!
Green gloves and socks it is then.....
FD
Do Rapha do Green ?
