Saturday 9th August 9.30am club ride

edited August 2014 in Club runs
Family visiting duties for me tomorrow, so I won't be out in the morning.

If somebody could volunteer to navigate a route that would be great. Thanks. As a suggestion how about 'route A' that we didn't do last week?

  • Thanks Pete for leading a great ride, beautiful morning for it. Lets hope the same can be said for tomorrow's riders!
  • Group of 10 out today. After tackling Sharpenhoe last week (and given there were no mountain goats out) we kept it flat. Followed parts of route A (but not really).

Hinxworth, Gamlingay, Bourn, Eversdens, Haslingfiled (no Chapel Hill - to the disappointment of some), Newton, Fowlmere, Shepreth, Bassingbourn, Ashwell.

Went the wrong way round considering the wind (should have stuck to the more North - South route A!) but we were all up for the challenge of a strong headwind from Bassingbourn to Ashwell.

43 miles @ 17 mph. Kept it pretty tidy and only one puncture after the overnight rain.

Sprint won by the visiting pirate (of course!). Thanks all for a good ride. Good luck to Ride Londoners for tomorrow.

    Not out next week
    Cheers
    Peter
  • Good fun out with the sat crew
    Pleasant surprise nice flat route
Polite offer of the sprint taken
It would be rude not too !

Avoiding the Sunday down pour also a good idea
    Thanks for the ride
    James
