Mk bowl central region championships
Today at the mk bowl Nathan Hardy and Mark Lightfoot were at the bowl for some U10 racing with Adam Lightfoot in the U12s.
For Hardy and Lightfoot there were seven (tough!) laps going clockwise. Both got into the front group with team mks Ruben snelson putting the pressure on from the gun. Nathan remained 2nd wheel for the first lap with Mark near the back of the bunch. All settled down until Hardy had a dig and went off the front with 4 laps to go and had an advantage of 20 meters. The bunch was closing slowly and the solo breakaway got caught. Everyone stayed together until the bell when the pace rapidly increased. A group of 3 were at the front to contest the medals, while Mark passed Nathan at the bottom of the course to go into 4th place but Nathan worked hard to pass Mark in the final 200 meters to reclaim 4th place and 3rd central with Mark taking 5th overall.
In the u12s race of 10 laps saw Adam Lightfoot getting into the front group of 4 which formed pretty much from the gun. The lead group shared the work for most of the race until with half a lap to go Adam went for glory and stayed away to take the win.
