quite agree Martin. That was a total revelation when I first sussed the route but try as I might when the club did this route for the first time I was dropped by the fast guys when they opened up to stretch their legs. We had a second group that did it a tad slower, but still exhilarating. Super fast and reminiscent of a good French road. Have fun everyone.
Teamsters, I've just done a 5 hour train back from Edinburgh in first class and had an intercity dinner of walkers and Stella, I could also be unhappy...
Cheers Phil. Enjoyed that. Now I feel like I really know Pipers Hill
Great to hear that Redbourn has at last got permission for closed road racing in its Fete du Velo (happening tomorrow, so it's v short notice!). Simon (from The Hub caf
9 started but with time pressures we finished as 5 - me, James, skeldog, Jane and Steve - did the "wobinghoe" route = Woburn, eggington, slapton, ivinghoe beacon, ringshall, pipers hill(s), redbourne ( coffee & cake) and back via kimpton and Whitwell - 85 miles, back at 1.45pm
Thanks Phil. Puncture must have been a sign to turn around as I got back to Royston with 47 miles (aiming for 50) and at a time of day which kept me off the radar! Puncture also served well in getting me off the front with Martin - Ouch!

Happy to have a go. Happier still if we had another Garmin with us
Hopefully it will rain
Skelders... I'll email the route! I'll try and get my garmin working... playing up.
It's a fast 100 - a bit more climbing the the GD100, but generally the roads are straighter, wider, faster.

The highlight for me is the super fast stretch after Balsham to Fulbourn: TTT.
Could be back by 2pm, but that might be a bit ambitious?
I think I will turn off at Wallington and make my way home and leave the slip end sprint
Looking forward to it
John
