Saturday 16th August 9.30am club ride

OK, two options again for tomorrow - most votes on the day wins !

So either the reverse of this route up to the mast and back at Littlebury Green (Ashwell-buntingford-Askensden-Barkway-Ashwell)

or as we haven't done it for ages (and there is probably a good reason for it !) then we can do the Baldock M/W route (basically hill reps up every hill I could find in the Royston/Sandon area)

See you in the morning

  • Wow I'm totally up for that second one David, looks awesome. Either is ok with me though, see you tomorrow.
  • Since the hills were taken out of last weekend, surprisingly I would have to go for route 2 as well.
You will just have to wait at the top for me.
  • good lord.. we are not all built like a racing snake!
  • Do postal votes count?

Hoping you can save the hilly one for next week.
Just done the Hadrain Cycleway. Some pretty tough climbs on that!
    Have a good ride!
  • Out-voted 9 to 1 on the choice of route this morning, but in the end I thoroughly enjoyed the ride and certainly needed the hill training.

Thanks David for a good workout!

Yes surprisingly the vote went for the silly hill climb route!

    3 observations from this morning:

    1. The last hill of the M section down from Sandon to the A505 is much longer than I remember
    2. Will has the loudest freewheel I've ever heard
    3. JMacs breakfast porridge needs to be tested by the UCI. (is it actually rocket fuel??)

Great ride & enjoyed the reps, although was at a distinct disadvantage on the downhill sections. Clearly more pies required :)

Thanks all for a good morning - will def have to do a repeat of this in the next few months!
  • Thanks David, that was great fun, made a nice change from the standard club ride!
  • good stuff.. discovered when i got home that the pain in my upper torso was not in fact a heart attack induce by the ludicrous hill rebs but a wasp that had got inside my top and was repeatedly stinging me!
